Beauty Review! Superdrug Simply Pure Oil Balancing Skincare Range

Hey guys, after my first two make-up reviews I decided to do my first beauty review. So here goes...

I suffer from oily skin, and by oily, I mean OILY. When I was at school I used to get a lot of comments from other students about my shiny skin, and although the comments weren't harsh or nasty, it still got me down. Since then, however, after trying every single product ever made for oily skin and millions of tips and tricks I have read that claim to reduce oil prduction, I've realised that there is no cure. None. And I have grown to get used to my skin. It doesn't bother me as much these days.

I've spent hundereds on face washes, toners and moisturisers especially designed for oily skin and not one have made any difference. The most expensive face wash I've tried? £51.00

About a month ago, I walked into Superdrug (not much of a shock, I may as well move my bed in the store and permanantly live there!) to pick up some Garnier Pure Long Lasting Shine Control Moisturiser because I'd ran out and I spotted the new Superdrug Simply Pure Oil Balancing range. The joy of seeing a new skincare range with the words 'oil-balancing' soon turned to doubt. I mean a skincare range where you can buy the face wash, the face mask, the serum and the mouisturiser for under a tenner? Nope. Never. It will be a waste of money.

How wrong was I?! After standing there for ages I decided, why not? Why not try the cheap skincare range that promises to 'prevent blemishes, regulate sebum control and minimise pore size'? It might end up being the GOD of all skincare ranges for oily skin.

I washed my face with the Cleansing Gel that night, followed by my trused toner, Witch Hazel (Right), and then spent time applying the Oil Balancing Serum and Moisturiser. My skin has never felt so clean and fresh and by using the products everyday I have noticed a difference in oil production.

The packaging is really simple, but I think it looks really pretty. I would definatly recommend anyone with oily skin to try these products. They work for me, you never know, they might be your lifesaver too!

Check my blog soon for tips on how to cope with oily skin, including how to ensure make-up stays put!

Has anyone else tried this skincare range? What did you think?

And is anyone interested in trying them out?

Comments welcome :)

  2. Thank you so much for doing a blog on this range! I love it and it really does the job without making my face feel oily and heavy. I also love that it is Oil and Fragrance FREE!!

Would love to know more about how the serum works and how it compares to the moisturiser.

Do you know if they do a body moisturiser or preferably body butter?

Have you tried any of Simply Pure's other products?
