Beauty Review! Superdrug Simply Pure Oil Balancing Skincare Range

Hey guys, after my first two make-up reviews I decided to do my first beauty review. So here goes...

I suffer from oily skin, and by oily, I mean OILY. When I was at school I used to get a lot of comments from other students about my shiny skin, and although the comments weren't harsh or nasty, it still got me down. Since then, however, after trying every single product ever made for oily skin and millions of tips and tricks I have read that claim to reduce oil prduction, I've realised that there is no cure. None. And I have grown to get used to my skin. It doesn't bother me as much these days.

I've spent hundereds on face washes, toners and moisturisers especially designed for oily skin and not one have made any difference. The most expensive face wash I've tried? £51.00

About a month ago, I walked into Superdrug (not much of a shock, I may as well move my bed in the store and permanantly live there!) to pick up some Garnier Pure Long Lasting Shine Control Moisturiser because I'd ran out and I spotted the new Superdrug Simply Pure Oil Balancing range. The joy of seeing a new skincare range with the words 'oil-balancing' soon turned to doubt. I mean a skincare range where you can buy the face wash, the face mask, the serum and the mouisturiser for under a tenner? Nope. Never. It will be a waste of money.

How wrong was I?! After standing there for ages I decided, why not? Why not try the cheap skincare range that promises to 'prevent blemishes, regulate sebum control and minimise pore size'? It might end up being the GOD of all skincare ranges for oily skin.

I washed my face with the Cleansing Gel that night, followed by my trused toner, Witch Hazel (Right), and then spent time applying the Oil Balancing Serum and Moisturiser. My skin has never felt so clean and fresh and by using the products everyday I have noticed a difference in oil production.

The packaging is really simple, but I think it looks really pretty. I would definatly recommend anyone with oily skin to try these products. They work for me, you never know, they might be your lifesaver too!

Check my blog soon for tips on how to cope with oily skin, including how to ensure make-up stays put!

Has anyone else tried this skincare range? What did you think?

And is anyone interested in trying them out?

Comments welcome :)

Review-Max Factor Eye Brightening Mascara for Blue Eyes

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been posting lately, I have been so busy but now I'm back!

So... my sisters birthday was on the 17th this month and after weeks of not knowing what to buy the 13 year old girl who has everything like fate I saw a Max Factor advert for their new Eye Brightening Mascara. So off I went to Superdrug to find the mascara was on special introductory offer for just £4.99! Bargain! So I picked up the mascara in the shade for blue eyes and picked out some more make-up for her and rushed to the till.

The mascara is in a really attractive, pretty tube as opposed to your normal boring plain black mascara tubes. It comes in three shades, one for blue eyes, one for green eyes and one for brown eyes.

On her birthday morning, my make up (and Justin Bieber) mad, newly teenage sister tried the mascara on straight away. And wasn't dissapointed! I, however, was. Why hadn't I got one for myself too?!

Now, my sisters eyes are always bright, sparkly blue, and the mascara didn't enhance that. Thats the only downside, the so called 'Eye Brightening' effect, it doesn't work. Her lashes on the other hand...let's just say I'd have had to stick extension after extension and then some on my own short, stumpy lashes to get them even almost that long!

Needless to say, I rushed out and bought my own Max factor Eye Brightening Mascara for Green Eyes after spending the entire day staring and practically drooling all over her birthday cake at her eyelashes!

Definatly a must have for girls with short stumpy lashes like me. Finally girlies... a mascara that makes our lashes look long and lovely...without having to put 67374628 coats on!

Have any of you tried this mascara? What did you think?

Review- Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Im a complete make up junkie! I spend most of my money on make up and a lot of the time the product I have bought is really, really not worth the money I spent on it. And then I complain I haven't got any money...and buy something else... and then that doesnt work either...so I complain I've wasted my money... and it continues in a circle.

However, last week I purchased the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the 'Cherish' shade. The product was on offer at Boots for £5.99 but after using this product, I've decided I would pay hundreds of pounds for it! (okay, maybe not hundreds, but you get my point ;)...)

The Balm Stain looks like a chunky pencil/crayon and at first looks as if the Balm will run out after a week, but the end of the Stain twists and you realise theres enough product to last months!

The colour of the LipBalm is a nice, noticable but not too 'in your face' pink.

I definatly recommend Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. It stays on for hours, is easy to apply and comes in a few fun colours! I even went back and bought it in the shade 'Romantic'! (Below)

Have any of you tried this LipStain? If so, what shades? What did you think? Comments welcome :)
