Barry M Confetti Effects Nail Polish Review

If you read my blog, you will know that I am not a fan of painting my nails due to being lazy! I prefer to get them done by someone else. But when I dragged my boyfriend around Superdrug this weekend for a new eyebrow pencil, I laid eyes on these beauties!

And even better, they were 3 for 2! After some debating, I chose Bubble-gum (blue and white) and Liquorice (Black and White) and got the Barry M Sequin effect in White free. (I will also post a review on this soon!)

I tried them out as soon as I got home. They both look nice used alone or on top of a contrasting shade. I decided to mix my nails up and used the Bubblegum shade with yellow and left one nail with just Bubblegum itself and I used the Liquorice with red and left one nail with just Liquorice on its own.

They are perfect for the summer and I will be buying all five colours!

For £3.99 they are a bargain!

Have you tried any confetti effect nail polishes? Which is your fave?

Shelby! :)

Nice and Easy Colour Blend Foam-Medium Golden Brown Review

Two weeks ago I did something I really, really regret and dyed my hair from bright red to very dark brown/black. First, before you start questioning, I didn't ACTUALLY intend to go this dark. I stripped my hair to a dark blonde and applied Nice and Easy Colour Blend Foam in the Medium Golden Brown shade.

I decided to go a medium brown because whilst I loved being a bright red-head, I found it hard to match make-up and clothes to it. I also wanted a toned down hair colour for winter.

The Foam Dye was extremely easy to use on my short hair. It was as easy to use as putting shampoo on your hair. But the ease of application and the nice, florally smell it had is the only positive thing about this product in my opinion.

The intructions advised me to keep the dye on for at least 25 minutes. So after applying, I sat with my feet up and waited. After about five/ten minutes, I got up, walked by my mirror and then backtracked in horror. The dye looked pitch black on my head! I've had black hair before for around four years so I've got no problem with black hair, but it was so hard to get out and change to a different colour that I refused to ever go black again. I frantically grabbed a towel and leapt in the shower to rinse it off after only ten minutes but it was too late.

It was midnight black.

Now, two weeks later, it is only just starting to fade to a dark brown. And whilst i'm getting used to the colour now, I really don't like it.

I've bought a red dye (Garnier Olia Intense Red, I will be reviewing it so keep looking out for it!) and I am going to strip it again and go back red. Wish me luck!

The dye would be perfect for someone with dark hair or who would like to go really dark, and it smells lovely and is simple to apply. But be careful which colour you choose.

Anyone else had this problem? And has anyone used the Garnier Olia Intense Red shade? Is it any good?

Shelby :)

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover Review

If you're anything like me, you won't paint your nails often and when you do, you leave them to chip until it all eventually peels off because the removal process of nail polish is boring!

I admit shame-facedly that I leave my nails chipped for days on end before I either:
a) Find time to remove the varnish and re-paint
b) Find the patience to do the above
c) Realise I look like a tramp who can't afford nail varnish remover and quickly apply a darker colour over the top of the current chipped one so I don't have to take it off completely. Lazy, I know.

So, after buying the new Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint (Review Coming Soon!) I finally bought the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover, which states 'Instant Removal, 1 Second Per Nail Without Cotton Wool"

All this time I have put off buying it because I seriously doubted that anything could remove stubborn nail polish that quickly... unless of course you chopped the fingers off.

What I first noticed about the product was the lovely smell, not half as strong as a normal nail polish remover and with a hint of vanilla and red fruit frangrance.

It also states on the bottle to have 'nourishing sweet almond oil' in the formula. After using it I did notice my nails felt soft as opposed to the dryness you get from usual harsh nail polish removers.

When I tried it, however, I was amazed. Okay, the 1 Second Per Nail promise that Bourjois states..is a bit far fetched. But about 5-10 seconds of twisting the finger around the foam piece inside the bottle and voila! Your nails are now polish free and you can re-paint them (urggghh, effort)!

MUA Nail Constellation Update: How Long The Beads Lasted Until They Fell Off!

So I tried the new MUA Nail Constellation last week (Review is on MWAH, for anyone interested) and I promised I would let you know how long the beads stayed on.

They lasted..... two days before they started falling off around the edges of the nail. Not bad really, you might think, but it is a pain having to try and paint the egdes of your nails again (without getting any polish on the rest of the beads on your nail) to stick more beads on.

This also uses a lot of beads, as they get everywhere, as I said in the review.

Did anyone else have this problem? Or was it just me?

hmmmfff.

Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Brights-Raspberry Rebel Review

So over the weekend, I stripped my hair back down from red to blonde so I could dye my hair a bright colour.  (See my last post to see how I managed to strip it!)

After stripping my hair, I was advised to only use semi-permanant dyes on my hair for at least 4 weeks. So I headed down to Boots to purchase a new Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL semi-perminant hair dye. I originally wanted to go bright red, so I was going to get the Pillar Box Red shade, but after seeing the Raspberry Rebel shade I fell in love with the idea of having pink hair! So I purchased that one!

I couldn't wait to try the hair dye so I got home, grabbed an old towel and dampened my hair as instructed in the leaflet in the box. The hair dye comes in a tube, and you don't have to mix it with other solutions. It's really easy to apply, but make sure you use a glove! This stuff stains everything! I started the hair dyeing process with mint coloured nails and finished the process with bright purple nails...

So I covered my hair with the dye and sat around for 20 minutes, waiting to rinse it off. A good thing about the XXL Brights is that the formula is like a cream and it doesn't drip and run like your normal hair dyes.

After 20 minutes I rinsed my hair until the water ran clear and ran to my bedroom mirror.

WOW! I seriously love the colour. At first it was more red than pink, but after the first wash, it is now bright pink!

It does look red on here for some strange reason, but I promise it is bright pink!
I will definatly be sticking to this hair dye now. It lasts for up to 8 washes, but in my opinion it is cheap to keep maintaining the colour at £4.00 a box. Plus, with my hair being short I have some left in the tube for a quick refresh. As well as that, it isn't as harsh on your hair than a permanant dye and you can wait for the colour to fade and try another colour for a week!

I definatly recommend this dye for anyone daring enough to have a bright hair colour that stands out a mile and is super, super cute!

If anyone has used this shade or any of the other two, I would love if you commented to tell me how it looks and how long it lasted for you! I really want to try the other two shades! Pictures and comments pleaseeeee :)

Colour B4 Review

After trying and failing repeatedly to dye my hair BRIGHT red, I decided to strip my hair down to its natural dark blonde/light brown colour this weekend and start again.

I bought a box of Colour B4 from BodyCare and tried it out the same night. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much as I opened the box, put an old towel around my shoulders and mixed the product. But I was that desperate to get my hair a bright, stand out colour that I slathered the mixture on my head. And let me tell you...it absolutely stinks of gone-off eggs! I can still smell it two days after, but it's more of a burning smell now.

The instructions advise you to complete the hair dye removal process in a warm environment ad to put cling film around your hair, if its long and thick, as this will 'trap the heat and accelerate colour removal'. My hair is short and far from thick (I have the worlds finest hair, I'm sure..), but I still wrapped my hair in cling film as I had a LOT of colour build up.

I left the mixture on for 60 minutes as advised (for hair that hasn't got a colour build up the mixture stays on for only 30 mins) and when I washed it out, which is a lonnnnggggggg process as you have to wash hair for at least ten minutes, I had golden blonde hair! My hair felt soft and renewed after using the Buffer that is supplied.

I recommend Colour B4 to anyone wishing to strip their hair and start again like me, or anyone who has had a hair dye horror or a just a change of heart. I am so pleased I used this on my hair and I can't praise the creators of it enough! The best thing? It contains no ammonia!

Well worth stinking of rotten eggs and burning for a few days! ;)

Heres the pictures of the transformation..

(yes, I look rather bad on these pics... but hey, not everyone looks perfect all the time do they?!)
